There is something so special about photographing a family you have known and loved for years.

Ellen is one of my longtime friends, a fellow heart mom, and one of the most amazing humans I know. She is also the founder of The Brett Boyer Foundation, where I have the privilege of working part time as Creative Director of awareness . The foundation was created in memory of Ellen and Bo’s daughter, Brett, and continues her legacy by raising awareness for congenital heart disease, supporting heart families, and funding important research.

I have photographed Wells and Lottie since they were in their mama’s belly, and every session with them becomes more fun. One of my favorite things about photographing children through the years is watching them become more comfortable with me and my camera. These two were completely themselves during this session. They were playful, natural, hilarious, and so much fun to photograph. Their personalities came through in every image, which is always exactly what I hope to capture.

I photographed their family session at a beautiful private property in Franklin, Tennessee. Franklin gave us the most gorgeous backdrop, and the evening light could not have been more perfect. Between the warm glow, the open space, and all the laughter, everything came together beautifully.

Ellen, Bo, Wells, and Lottie, I love your family and feel so grateful that you continue to trust me with these memories. Photographing your family through so many different seasons has been such a gift.
